We were contacted by Mr Hampson in 2013 to design and construct a new contemporary look driveway. The plan was to enable more off road parking and security.
We decided that to enable more parking we would have to take out a large old existing Birch tree and excavate the surrounding land. We looked at options to keep the tree in situ, but the size and age of the tree meant it would prove to be problematic in the future.
With the tree professionally removed we now had the space to meet the brief.
This included new higher front boundary walls with wrought iron railings and two new driveway entrances each with electric sliding gates.
The new paving was an important element of the project as there was a lot of it. We decided to opt for granite and basalt in a mix of slab sizes and strips. This enabled us to be creative with the contrasting dark and light colours of the stone.
We also created subtle level changes and built the steps from matching stone.
The new rectangular formal lawns created a striking contrast with the bold colours of the stone. The inside of a side boundary wall was rendered in k-rend and finished with Cedar cladding to match the back garden walls
We also installed a new lighting and planting scheme to finish this amazing contemporary front of house space.
"The attention to detail with our project was absolutely unbelievable! We can't even begin to explain how happy we are!"
