Jan called into our Woolton Road shop in 2015 to ask us to come up with a design for her problematic sloping garden. She had moved to a brand new house and while the house looked amazing the sloping garden that was overlooked on all sides let it down.
We designed a garden that not only looked amazing but also gave Jan and her family privacy and a whole new outdoor space to enjoy.
We brought in the machinery and excavated and removed tons and tons of ground to enable us to create three level terraced areas. Rendered walls created raised beds and benches in the sunken area while also retaining higher levels. A large feature wall incorporating a letter box waterfall was built and painted Jans favourite colour “SHOCKING PINK”, this created a stunning focal point in the garden.
The garden terraces were linked beautifully with sawn and polished sandstone paving and the addition of outdoor lighting brought the garden alive at night time.
We planted a combination of large bamboo in the raised beds and pleached Carpinus trees to create screening and privacy around the garden.
Other planting included Cyprus Trees, Box hedging and Box balls to give it a formal classical look.
"Our garden is now a key feature of our family life. It allows us to entertain friends and family and is the envy of all of them!"
